Bill Baca Becomes the 52nd President of the Long Beach Century Club
|
On June 29th Bill Baca (shown on the right) became the club's 52nd President by accepting the gavel from outgoing President- Steve Blood. Bill, a long-time resident of the greater Long Beach area has indicated he wishes to expand the club's influence to the High School levels and is actively seeking involvement with the Unified School District and moving towards getting a greater number of the Coaches to become members. Bill, who is active in the Lakewood Public Safety Commission, recently hosted several athletes from the Long Beach Police Athletic League (PAL) at a recent meeting where they demonstrated their Karate and boxing skills. The club is also looking to increase its membership in the general community as we enter our 52nd year. During those years the club has donated over $1.5 million dollars to amateur athletics in the City.
